Albert Einstein, the eminent physicist who revolutionized science with his theory of relativity, was born on March 14, 1879 in Ulm, Germany 145 years ago.

In a playful gesture, the unconventional free spirit stuck his tongue out at his pursuers, an iconic moment captured by photographer Arthur Sasse and quickly circulated around the world.
